About Larin Energy

Grounded in decades of scientific research on natural hydrogen.

Larin Energy is a science-led natural hydrogen platform with roots in the foundational theoretical and exploration work of V.N. Larin and V.M. Shestopalov. The company was founded to commercialize what that science makes possible — starting with proof in Fillmore County, Nebraska.

The Scientific Foundation

Two Science Legacies. One Platform.

V.N. Larin developed the deep-Earth hydrogen thesis — formally known as the Primordially Hydridic Earth (PHE) concept, first formalized in 1968 and published as a peer-reviewed monograph in Canada in 1993. The PHE concept proposes that Earth is intrinsically hydrogen-rich at depth: hydrogen formed as a primordial component of the planet's interior and has been continuously migrating toward the surface through degassing vents and geological fault structures ever since. This is the macro-thesis: a theoretical framework — supported by growing field evidence — for why natural hydrogen exploration is scientifically credible.

V.M. Shestopalov built the practical exploration logic that V.N. Larin's theory required. His work mapped how hydrogen migrates, where it accumulates, and what geological signatures indicate a viable target — fault systems, structural traps, seep patterns, and formation relationships that direct the explorer toward the resource.

Larin Energy was built at the intersection of these two frameworks: the macro-thesis that explains why the hydrogen exists, and the field method that explains where to find it. The Hoarty NE3 wellbore in Fillmore County, Nebraska — drilled in 2019 — was the proof that the combined framework produces real results. 44% hydrogen in produced gas samples. 12.8% helium. Both verified independently.

"Earth is intrinsically hydrogen-rich at depth, with hydrogen migrating toward the surface since the planet formed."

Developed the Primordially Hydridic Earth (PHE) concept, first formalized in 1968 and published as a peer-reviewed monograph in Canada in 1993. The PHE concept proposes that Earth contains primordial hydrogen in its interior, continuously migrating upward through fault structures and degassing vents. This is the macro-thesis: the theoretical foundation for why natural hydrogen exploration is scientifically credible, not speculative.

Hydrogeologist · Exploration Method

"Fault architecture, migration pathways, and structural traps are the signatures that direct the explorer toward the resource."

Advanced practical methods for identifying where natural hydrogen accumulates — mapping fault systems, migration pathways, and structural traps specific to hydrogen's physical behaviour. His exploration logic is the direct precursor to the Larin & Shestopalov targeting methodology: the operational framework that translates theoretical expectations into specific drill targets. Applied at Hoarty NE3 before the first drill.

Larin Energy's scientific framework is built on the published work of these two scholars. Their contributions to geologic hydrogen science are publicly documented in academic literature.
